There are 14,000 athletes registered in various national and provincial teams in China and the total number of athletes in country reaches 200,000. Full time professional training starts usually at the age of six. Most athletes, devoted and committed to bring the nation glory, are not able to complete even the basic education. Athletes and coaches are faced with great difficulties when they decide to enter international sports governing bodies or move on after retirement.
